About Marcus...

Marcus Jones is the Past National President of Round Table Great Britain and Ireland, a proud member of 41 Club, a motivational speaker, adventurer and mentor to start up projects, new business, third sector charities & trustee to local and national groups.

He works in partnership with all supporting organisations of "The Round Table Family of Clubs" and related organisation such as Anthony Nolan, CALM, PTSD, NCVO, Princess Trust & most recently The Frank Bruno Foundation. Marcus recently announced his adventurous wellbeing project www.doingextraordinarythings.co.uk supported by the work he started in 2015 through The Links Foundation for Mental Health Issues. Delighted in encouraging all generations to talk openly around mental health whilst delivering projects that will inspiring future generations of young people to use their personal qualities and skills to Adopt, Adapt and Improve their local communities.

At the same time Marcus is continuing his support to develop a world leading social club for men aged 18 to 45, whilst putting community at the heart of the matter for local businesses. Continuing work includes the journey of New Horizons through membership of 41Club Nationally & Internationally via creation of www.41ClubConnects.co.uk, a project developed because of the impact of Covid19 on society.

Born in West Wales and now living in Nottingham, Marcus is supported in his duties by his partner Jane. Being very passionate about Mentoring, Rugby, Volunteer Sector and especially The Round Table Family, he loves a challenge and is on a mission to harness the skills of the youth for the good of their local communities and to promote friendship across frontiers. You will find him somewhere influencing people from all around the world for positive change. Challenges include his new project taking ten guys to Everest Base Camp in 2021.

The day job finds Marcus as the highly successful Leader & Head of Business of Jaguar Land Rover within the East Midlands, demonstrating over 22 years working with JLR in the automotive retail sector and over 35 years in the retail & people development Industry. He is described by many as a "transformational strategic leader", both of business and within investment of people. His passion for the development of community organisations such as Round Table, Nottingham Rugby Academy, Nottingham Education Academy, Local Government Think Tanks and "The Links Foundation for Mental Health" is clear for all to see. When asked to describe the work he has engaged within during his time in Round Table and the volunteer sector, he will always declare enthusiastically members of organisations such as 41Club & Round Table are “Ordinary Guys Doing Extraordinary Things” side by side with local volunteers working hard to improve our local communities, sharing fun and fellowship whilst at the same time seizing thousands of unique opportunities to experience exciting new activities, new situations and new people. The Round Table Family and volunteering is life changing!

With a clear focus in life to support others, Marcus is developing ideas & beliefs such as empowering individuals to do more in life and improve their wellbeing through the experiences with New Horizons and a view to do more in life through positive connections. Known for a "man with a plan" as described by international businessman & entrepreneur John Thorsson, who states "Marcus uses an approach to projects that has three principles", "Structure, Process & People" to gain results. Today he talks about engaging, encouraging and empowering the future generation of society through mentoring, when he walks in the room everyone listens”.
